Now in its fifth year, this exhibition features outstanding creative work by students on the RBGE adult education classes. From botanical art to photography and craft works, many pieces have been inspired by the Garden. Some work will be for sale.

Spring Flower Show

11am–5pm, Caledonian Hall, £1.50, (students and children free).


Held at the Garden for the fourth year running, the 2003 Spring Flower Show is a chance to celebrate the achievements of over 60 amateur gardeners. Alpine Trough Demonstrations

John Hutton Balfour's Botanical Teaching Diagrams (1840-1879)

10am–5.30pm (closed Tuesdays), Inverleith House, free.


In the archives of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is an extraordinary collection of 19th century botanical teaching diagrams. This spring, a small selection goes on display for only the second time, as part of this year's Edinburgh International Science Festival programme at the Garden.
