Fascinating Mummies

Fascinating Mummies is an unmissable exhibition of significant treasures from the world famous Egyptology collections of the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden. They are displayed alongside objects from our own important collections which have contributed to the understanding of life, death and the afterlife in Ancient Egypt. This will be the only opportunity to see this intriguing exhibition in the UK.

The First Tingles of Spring

Dash around the farm in search of the first signs of spring, then retreat to the warmth of the museum to make stunning snowdrop hats, build a catkin tree, create some seedy creatures, and perhaps meet the first chicks of the year.

Visit Edinburgh Zoo during co Week and find out what you can do for the environment. Take part in practical and fun activities and learn lots of new green ideas to help a support our planet. Try your hand at building a recycled Zoo from old boxes and containers, or make your very own garden bird feeder. 11am to 3.30pm Budongo Trail. Free with Zoo admission.

Valentine's Day

Home to the most famous couple in the animal kingdom, what better a way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with Edinburgh Zoo?

Also on Valentine’s Day itself, Tuesday 14th February, Honeypot Ceramics will give visitors the chance to paint their own love bear. For a small additional cost, you can paint your loved one a personalised little ceramic bear.

Remember, although virtually all panda ticket times are booked up already for Valentine’s Day, there will still be walk up tickets available on the day on a first come basis – but you’ll have to be quick!

Hear haunting songs and stories of the sea accompanied by renowned clarsach player and storyteller Heather Yule. An innovative performance guaranteed to delight, enthral and entrance - not to be missed.

Messy Play with Honey Post Ceramics Arts & Crafts – Friday 17th February
Enjoy messy fun with Honey Pot Ceramics Arts and Craft Studio. Their experienced staff are offering a drop in session for children between six months and five years – great for encouraging children to express their creative side with a variety of fun materials. 11am to 3pm in the Rainforest Room in the Education Centre. Free with Zoo admission.

Also this half term, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) will visit Edinburgh Zoo’s Budongo Trail to promote their work and talk to visitors about wildlife and conservation.
